Pain Changes Everything. We Can Help.
Traction is a force that separates two joint surfaces or bones, and is used to reduce pain, improve mobility and take pressure off of nerves in the spine. It is opposite to compression forces and is sometimes called spinal decompression. It is either done manually - by hand, or by mechanical means - machines or equipment.
Stretches the spine to take pressure off compressed or herniated discs
Helps open up stiff or arthritic spinal facets joints
Can relieve nerve entrapment, compression or so-called “pinched nerves”
Relieves some forms of sciatica
Can provide some relief for spinal stenosis
Loosen stiff spines and arthritis in seniors
Traction can be applied at angles for those with spinal curvatures or scoliosis
Our Chiropractor offers specialized mechanical, low back traction to safely treat your condition. It is often utilized along with chiropractic adjustments and electrotherapy for maximum results.

Our Physiotherapist offers manual (hands-on) traction to the neck and low back. Self traction techniques are also taught - something unique to our clinic. So that way you can self-treat using this technique to better manage your recovery.
There are home traction units available for the neck. These are for chronic conditions of neck pain, stiffness, arthritis or nerve compression. Our staff will instruct you on proper use. Available in clinic.
